Life Safety

Plans You Can Bet Your Life On

Is there anything more crucial to a building’s design than ensuring the occupants’ safety and ability to get out in an emergency? Yet it’s ironic how often restoration documents come with only the sketchiest of life safety plans, or none at all, even after a disaster has already taken place!

The result is inevitable permit delays as the plan reviewer puzzles over it for a while, eventually calls the architect, plays phone tag, and finally scribbles an answer on the plan and flags it for an in-field review.

At Vivid, every set of drawings includes an exhaustive life safety review and a complete plan, from current codes to major means of egress, exit paths and capacity, dead-end corridors, fire ratings and suppression systems, you name it. It’s all there, spelled out and specified as with all our construction documents. So there’s nothing to question, nothing to delay approvals. And nothing to get in the way of a safe and secure occupancy.
